-today- Okay, this is a place to submit any differences and similarities between SVH and SVHSY. There are some, I know there are. Nikki Differences The missing characters. The diff. relationships. The new characters. Janneke Differences no todd!(which is a great thing!!!!!) no happy endings... no wayout stories like people trying to kill the twins or princes proposing...that was too unbelievable! Merryn Differences and Similarities yeah none of the same characters same school cliff hanger endings Katie Differences No twins going after each other's boyfriends No boring Liz No Stuck up Jessica Es* Differences svhsy is not so fake as svh is. in svh, everyone is happy, liz had perfect relationships, jessica got all the guys. now in svhsy, it's all changed. liz actually has problems and jessica has made a really good change! Sandy Differences SVHSY is sort of real... unlike SVH Liz is still single, Jessica has perfect boyfriend. No more old characters. Ken has changed from fun and cool jock to boring jock Everyone's not happy. Jade's personality has changed, she's a senior instead of junior like Annie Whitman. Lila disappeared. Todd was only mentioned in a few books, only with the football players and his best friend Ken Matthews. More cuss words in SY than in SVH. Arpi Differences There isn't Aaron, Winston, Jeffrey, lila, heather, a.j, bruce, caroline, enid, barry, maria santelli, amy and todd. Jessica is more nice than shallow.there are alot of differeinces and elizabeth never talks about devon. Kates Senior Year is kinda realistic...in a wayz Amanda Well Elizabeth has certainly change so has Jessica. Though I must say that I miss the thriilers from SVH very exciting to read at the time. But I'm glad that Jess and Liz are in SVHSY but they need to bring back Lila, Bruce, and Todd. Sarah Differences SVH had better storylines and was really entertaining, but SY is more realistic. The Characters in SVH are better though. In SY they are all really bad and mean. Sarah Though SY is more realistic, the writors have run out of ideas and it has became a bunch of rip off storylines. although it has gotten better it just isn't the originality of the SVH series. Jess todd went from being the star basketballer to a star footballer. whats with that? Cristina Differences and Similiarities Different- Liz is not that boring anymore and more outgoing than usually Same- Jessica is still JESSICA!! Different- Some of the old characters are not in the series anymore. New characters have appeared. Same- You may never know what will happen next at SVH!! Jaime I miss the old characters, what happened to them and why does Liz never talk about Devon and Liz and Jess both are so realistic it is great but I remember SVH Party Weekend reading about Tia Ramirez and how she played volleyball i thought she was a cheerleader and El Carro that doesnt make sense Cassie for liz's sake there is conner instead of todd(he was getting old) i like conner way more Lisa Diff: Elizabeth doesn't have to get Jessica out of a mess every day Same: Elizabeth still like's to do writing a lot. Daisy Differences ~ all the old characters (Bruce, Winston), Todd is now suddenly a football player (?), Liz is a lot more rebellious and finally has a crush on someone, Jessica is less shallow and has matured a lot, the new characters, it's not as unrealistic like someone trying to kill her and Jess, Jess has like no friends, more realistic characters (all those "perfect kids" were driving me nuts!!), and Liz practically forgets all about Todd!! Similarities~ same school... that's basically it!! Mia svhsy is more realistic Holly its not a perfect world in sweet valley anymore!! Elisabeth Same: Todd always played football and basketball.... Diff: tooo many forgotten characters. bruce, regina, SAM! please her boyfriend died the last prom book and this one they don't even think about it. Diff: no glitz that the svh had sy lacks the glam of living in southern ca. Diff: the life goals of acting for jess and writting for liz are highly downplayed Same: Jess is fun and crazy. Diff: liz is selfish and somehow less obnoxious Laura people already mentioned that half the characters are gone. um...jade is totally different. i remember reading a book from way back when she had these really strict parents (who were still together), and she was a very shy ballet dancer. some of ther personalities in SY are more realistic. practically every book of SVH finished and ended with a storyline that didn't always continue (you didn't have to read the whole searies to understand what was going on because each book could have been put by itself.) SY is more of a series. the story does not begin and end in one book. Not to mention, in the beginning of every SVH book you always heard about how different elizabeth and jessica were even though ther were both size 6, 5'6, had blue green eyes, etc. thank God i don't have to read those lines anymore, lol! Elizabeth You know the characters are much different than they were back in the normal Sweet Valley High. they have different personalities than they had back in sweet Valley junior high. Melissa i think SY is way way better than SVH.........cos it'z kinda hard to picture the perfect life everyone had in SVH..........it wus more like a fictional cartoon where Jess and Liz were gorgeous and popular and blah blah.............SY is more like my life...:) Suhaylah the difference is jess is not a stuck up no more cause she's not friends with lila . so i think that's a good thing.
